An interesting article by John Allen on the refusal of the Holy See's Ambassador to the State of Israel, Archbishop Antonio Franco, to attend this year's Holocaust Memorial Day events on April 16 at Yad Vashem, the country’s main Holocaust museum, in protest over what he considers an offensive caption under a picture of Pope Pius XII. The caption is critical of the pope's alleged failures to speak out about attacks on Jews during the Second World War.
