Pope Paul II
Pietro Cardinal Barbo, Cardinal Priest of San Marco, Bishop of Vicenza, was elected Bishop of Rome on 30 August 1464 in the Vatican Apostolic Palace, taking the name Paul II, and was crowned on 16 September. Pope Paul II died on 26 July 1471 in Rome, in the 7th year of his pontificate. He was buried on 5 August in the Grottoes of the Patriarchal Vatican Basilica.
