A Prince in the Markets

Earlier today, the Prince of Wales paid a visit to the Church of St Malachy in the Markets area of Belfast. The church, which was built in the mid-nineteenth century, had recently been reopened following a multi-million pound restoration.

No doubt the Prince would have been more than impressed by the quality and sympathy of the restoration save for the cross (visible in the bottom right-hand corner of the picture) which - to this writer's mind - is completely out of keeping with the rest of this magnificent building.
