Belfast's New Bishop?

William Crawley's Will and Testament Blog (the one that carried the less than edifying comment thread on Bishop Patrick Walsh last year) reports that Patsy McGarry, the Irish Times religion correspondent, has named Monsignor Noel Treanor from the Diocese of Clogher as the next Bishop of Down and Connor.

what exactly was "less than edifying" about the comments on the Will and Testament blog? The blog faithfully and accurately reported on the Stop Donal campaign which is proven true by the news of Noel Treanor's appointment. If people responded poorly to the memory and legacy of Bishop Patrick Walsh, then the burden of blame ought to fall on Walsh and how he has conducted himself down the years.

That's your opinion, Anonymous, and you are more than welcome to it. Let's just say it's not mine!

you are clearly mis-remembering your years as a student in St. Malachy's and the atmosphere of fear that Walsh inculcated there.

Anonymous, I don't recall having claimed to have been a student at St Malachy's.
