Pope Clement XIV

His Eminence Lorenzo Francesco Giovanni Vincenzo Antonio Cardinal Ganganelli, O.F.M.Conv., Cardinal Priest of Santi Dodici Apostoli, Consultor of the Supreme Sacred Congregation of the Roman and Universal Inquisition. Elected Bishop of Rome on 19 May 1769 in the Vatican Apostolic Palace, taking the name Clement XIV, was consecrated to the episcopate on 28 May and crowned on 4 June.

Pope Clement XIV died on 22 September 1774 in Rome, in the 6th year of his pontificate. He was buried on 27 September in the Patriarchal Vatican Basilica. His mortal remains were transferred on 21 January 1802 to the basilica of Santi Dodici Apostoli, Rome.
